Glassblowing Experience in Turin

A true first step into the furnace. Not a silent demonstration to watch, but two hours to touch, feel, and experience the glass yourself. In our studio in Turin, you will step inside a real furnace for a practical, guided experience created even for absolute beginners.

Duration The workshop runs from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM (14:30 – 16:30). Two intense hours. You observe, try, and try again. The pace is dynamic yet fully guided, ensuring everyone gets their dedicated time at the furnace.

Group Size Maximum 6 participants. A small group for individual attention, plenty of room to ask questions, and space to learn without pressure.

What to Expect During the Experience

  • The Fundamentals: We start with the basics — tools, safety rules, and furnace operation, followed by an introductory hands-on walkthrough to understand timing and movement.
  • The Rhythm of the Furnace: Experience the real workflow of an artisan studio, assist in handling and rotating the incandescent glass, and watch the master craftsman create a murrina glass flower as a symbol of your experience.
  • Hands-On Support: Help the master heat the glass, assist in positioning the punty (pontil rod), and feel what it means to work with molten material, managing your breath, coordination, and timing.

This is not a passive tourist demonstration: it is an authentic, immersive, and unforgettable experience. If you wish to challenge yourself further, you can continue with a 1-on-1 private session to craft your own blown glass cup from start to finish.
